VATICAN CITY: is offering new parents advice, telling them it’s perfectly normal to fight but just not in front of their children because of the “anguish” it causes.
Francis asked permission yesterday to give his counsel during a ceremony to baptise 27 newborns in the the frescoed Sistine Chapel. Amid coos and wails, Francis told parents they had taken on an important new job of transmitting the faith to their children – a job he said began at home. Francis then offered some off-the-cuff advice.
He said: “It’s normal for spouses to fight… it’d be strange if they didn’t. Do it, but so that the children don’t hear it or see it.” BEIJING: It took a Smash customer just a few sharp blows with a baseball bat to wreck what looked like an old car radio, after which two friends battered telephones, speakers, rice cookers and a mannequin.
All three paid 158 yuan (R320) to spend half an hour in an “anger room” in Beijing, where patrons wearing protective gear use hammers and bats to vent their frustration on household objects. Since the venture opened in September, customers had smashed around 15 000 bottles every month, said 25-year-old Jin Meng, who co-founded Smash with her friends.
Smash aims to help people deal with the pressures of living in big cities, targeting customers aged between 20 and 35. Similar ventures exist in other countries, including the US. Jin said around 600 people visited Smash each month.
“A woman brought all her wedding photos here, and she smashed them all,” Jin said.
Her next step was to open an anger room in a shopping mall.
