IF you’re looking for something light on fuel and packed with features, the new Renault Sandero Stepway Plus offers an enhanced ‘SUV look’ and added value for money.

Distinguished from lesser models through its more upmarket design and badging with 16-inch two-tone flexwheel covers, gloss black door mirrors with a distinctive red line, and three new body colours: Fusion Red, Highland Silver and Café Brown, the Sandero Stepway Plus is ready for the beaten track. It comes with side airbags, front and rear power windows, electric side mirrors, leather steering wheel and gear knob and rear park assist. Cruise control and navigation are also standard.

Access to highly efficient and technologically advanced engines is no longer the reserve of more expensive cars, as proven by the vehicle’s ‘F1-inspired’ three cylinder, 900cc petrol turbo engine. This compact new generation 66kW turbo powerplant is standard across the Sandero line-up (the only Turbo-powered model in its vehicle segment) and it remains highly efficient thanks to its lightweight aluminium engine block, low inertia turbo, variable valve timing, piloted variable oil pump and lifetime engine chain. The vehicle also benefits from a host of innovative solutions transferred from Formula 1 including diamond-like carbon coatings (high tech surface treatment for engine components to reduce friction).

Sipping unleaded at a rate of 5.4l/100km, the Stepway Plus can offer a week’s worth of travel for the daily (average) office commute.
