Dog with pendant sets social media tongues wagging
A PUPPY found tied to a pole with an engagement ring tied to its collar and a pendant around its neck has left dog lovers on social media puzzled.
A post on Facebook looking for the puppy’s owners garnered a lot of attention, with many wondering about the jewellery around the dog’s neck.
The person who posted had found the dog. Many users thought the jewels might be signs of a romantic proposal.
Rescue organisation owner Cheryl-Lyn Potgieter said the dog had in fact belonged to a homeless woman who frequented the area.
“It was a woman who lives on street and she said she just wanted to make it pretty. The dog was tied to a pole and taken to Fallen Angels Rescue, but will be going back to her,” Potgieter said.
She said the dog was in good condition when found and was about four months old.
“It looked very good. It wasn’t sterilised but they’ll work on getting it sterilised. It’s still too young for that, it needs to be at least six months for sterilisation,” she added. |
