EU’s cleanest bathing waters list
STOCKHOLM: Austria, Cyprus, Greece and Malta are home to Europe’s cleanest bathing waters, says the EU’s environment watchdog.
The four countries had scored “excellent” ratings for at least 95% of their bathing waters, the European Commission and the European Environment Agency reported yesterday. Across the 28 EU countries surveyed, 85% of bathing sites had achieved excellent status.
The countries with the highest number of bathing waters failing to meet EU standards last year were Italy, France and Spain.
