THE aroma of freshly brewed coffee triggers so many comforting emotions for me.

In the morning, coffee goes with a feeling of gratitude, indicating the start of a fresh new day. On a cold day, I enjoy a cup of iced coffee, the cold somewhat maximises the flavour and makes me feel rebellious.

After going months without a cup of coffee during my pregnancy, I have cut down from having a cup of coffee every morning to once every other week. The question of how many cups of coffee can one drink in a day always gets conflicting answers.

A study by the Queen Mary University of London, revealed this week, that coffee lovers can drink up to 25 cups of coffee a day without damaging your heart. Dr Kenneth Fung said “Our research indicates coffee isn’t as bad for the arteries as previous studies would suggest.” He highlighted that while some participants drank huge amounts of coffee, the average among the highest consumer group was five cups a day.

Just like everything else, enjoy coffee in moderation. Happy brewing.
