13 MEMBERS APPOINTED TO NATION-BUILDING BODY

PRESIDENT Cyril Ramaphosa has appointed 13 members to the Commission for the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Cultural, Religious and Linguistic Communitie­s for a period of five years. The appointmen­t was made in terms of section 9(1) read with 13(1) of the Commission Act, 2002 (Act No

19 of 2002). The appointed members of the commission are: Luka Mosoma, Sylvia Mmamohapi Pheto, Sheila Khama, Tsholofelo Mosala, Sicelo Dlamini, Oscarine Nokuzola Mndende, Nomalanga Tyamzashe, Ramokone Tryphina Kgatla, Muneer Abduroaf, Richard Botha, Pitika Ntuli, Renier Schoeman and Mandla Langa. President Ramaphosa has further appointed, in terms of section

12 of the Act, Luka Mosoma and Sylvia Mmamohapi Pheto as chairperso­n and deputy chairperso­n of the commission, respective­ly. President Ramaphosa has congratula­ted the commission­ers and wished them well in this critical role of ensuring social transforma­tion and nationbuil­ding for the attainment of a truly united South African nation. | Content Supplied PROPERTY developer Abland is working on five new commercial developmen­ts worth more than R300 million at the 72 hectare Atlantic Hills Business Park in Cape Town, a statement said yesterday. The developmen­ts include a 4 000 square metre head office and warehouse for Time Link, and offices for Hi Calibre, Brand In-Store and Symphony Forwarding SA; an 11 000 square metre developmen­t with 11 units to rent; an 8 000 square metre warehouse and office developmen­t to rent; and a 17 000 square metre cold-storage facility and head office for Southern African Fruit Terminals.

The first four developmen­ts are being built on behalf of POD Property Fund, with a value of R300m. Time Link, Hi Calibre, Brand In-Store and Symphony Forwarding SA were completed at the end of March. This month constructi­on started on the 11 000 square metre and 8 000 square metre developmen­ts, which were being built for future tenants. The 17 000 square metre cold-storage facility and head office for SA Fruit Terminals will have 20 air-locked loading, and rapid-sterilisat­ion cooling tunnels, with a 5 500 pallet capacity. Abland planned to complete the business park developmen­t in 2023, the statement said. |
