‘Finest’ top 100 young SADC leaders
THE fifth annual Young Independents SADC Top 100 Young Leaders honoured innovators, trailblazers, influencers, healers and disruptors whose activities in and around their communities set the standard for being acknowledged as young leaders.
This year, more than 100 nominees representing 15 countries that make up the SADC region became finalists for the awards.
An independent judging committee of five experts from various sectors determined the ultimate winners of the awards.
In the Innovator category, Rahab Inghalwa from Namibia scooped the top prize.
Tuilika Andreas from Namibia was awarded first place in the Influencer category, while South African Grace Bampile won first place in the Trailblazer category.
Angelo Louw from South Africa scooped the Healers category prize and South African singer, rapper and songwriter Sho Madjozi took first place in the Disruptors category.
The Young Independents is an initiative by the Independent Media Group.
Mike Ntsasa, Independent Media group executive for public sector and founding member of The Young Independents, said: “The winners truly represent the finest young leaders in their communities. This initiative really gives us the opportunity to celebrate African excellence and the young people who are at the forefront of reshaping their communities and the continent as a whole.”
