Top panel of judges for photo contest
THIS year’s international team of judges for the Andrei Stenin International Press Photo Contest includes directors and photo editors from the world’s leading photography and news media outlets, as well as international gallerists, organisers said yesterday.
Contestants in the sixth edition of the contest for photojournalists aged between 18 and 33 will be judged by Jerome Sessini, a French photographer and member of Magnum Photos, a leading documentary-photography agency, Chloe Coleman, photo editor at the international news desk of The Washington Post, Dimitri Beck, director of photography at Polka, a French magazine and gallery, and Davide Monteleone, an Italian photographer and researcher and National Geographic fellow, among others.
Sessini said he was “delighted and honoured” to participate as a judge.
“Being a judge gives me the privilege of seeing the productions of young photographers from a close point of view. It is inspiring to be able to feel the current trends in photography.”
Coleman said that as a photo editor for an international news organisation, she strived to consistently work with emerging photographers from throughout the world.
Beck said: “In being part of this jury, it is a good opportunity to get closer to Russian contemporary photographers; not enough is known about them abroad. I expect to meet newcomers and also see the work of talented photojournalists, whatever their nationality.”
This year, contestants will compete for prizes in four categories: Top News, Sports, My Planet and Portrait, and A Hero of Our Time.
Entrants can submit their works in any of the categories via stenincontest.com
The closing date for entries is February 29.
