Call to lock down lax Nigeria longer
LAGOS: Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has been advised to lock down the country for at least two more months after Nigerians failed to comply with safety measures to curb the spread of the coronavirus. Yesterday, the federal government began easing the weeks-long Covid-19 lockdown.
Itse Sagay, chairperson of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption, described Nigerians as “the most undisciplined people on Earth”, and said Buhari should deploy military personnel to patrol the streets.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has recorded 148 new cases this week, bringing the total number 2 950.
