METAIR LOOKS TO FUTURE AFTER CORONAVIRUS
METAIR CEO Theo Loock had decided to take early retirement and would step down as CEO and chairman and non-executive director of all local and international subsidiaries of the group, from December 2020, a statement said yesterday. Loock had been the CEO for close to 15 years and spearheaded Metair’s transformation and globalisation strategy, establishing the group as a leader in the automotive component and energy storage segments of the market. Metair directors said the group Covid-19 response strategy, which includes an ambitious recovery plan with growth opportunities, required the strengthening of the Metair leadership. The group structure would be strengthened with the appointment of a chief operating officer. An arrangement for Loock to continue to provide consultancy services was being contemplated, as the board felt Loock’s experience would benefit Metair stakeholders.
