Drone crashes into school; man nabbed
A MAN was arrested in Tokyo in connection with a drone that crashlanded into a primary school, Japanese broadcaster NHK reported yesterday.
The accused flew the 800g device over a densely populated residential area without permission. Nobody was reported injured.
Japan’s aviation law prohibits drone flights in Tokyo, over other densely populated areas and around airports. A government permit is required and the devices may not be flown at night. Operators violating the rules could face fines of up to 500 000 yen (R77 000). | dpa
