Youth refugee camp set up in Paris square

PARIS: Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) and four other humanitarian groups set up a migrant campsite in Paris, near the Place de la Republique, housing about 100 adolescents, the organisations said yesterday, to draw attention to the dangers young refugees face.
Since the closure of a large migrant camp in Calais in 2016, refugees had moved to the capital city. Many are from North Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
The French government, under pressure to take a tough stance on illegal immigration, cleared out a campsite in Paris housing more than 1 000 migrants in January.
