Government-created jobs not sustainable
WITH reference to your October 16 story, “Government plans to create 800 000 jobs”.
It is unfortunately true that when the government creates jobs they are not sustainable and certainly not productive. The world over, governments fall into the trap of trying to create jobs instead of trying to create a conducive environment for the private sector to create jobs.
The only real way to have a thriving economy is for the private sector to be encouraged and assisted in growing their businesses and having less onerous regulatory environments. MICHAEL BAGRAIM | Highlands Estate
