MURDER accused Zane Killian, on trial for his alleged involvement in two separate criminal cases, will make another appearance in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court today.

Killian appeared as one of five suspects yesterday in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court for his involvement in the attempted murder case of prominent Cape Town attorney William Booth.

He was unharmed after he was shot at while in his garage at home in Higgovale on April 9.

National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Eric Ntabazalila said Killian was implicated in five charges in the Booth matter: gang-related charges, conspiracy to commit murder, attempted murder, unlawful interception of communication and access or interception of any data without Booth’s permission.

The case was postponed to December 14 for further investigation.

Today, Killian will appear in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court to pursue his bail application after he was arrested for his alleged involvement in the murder of top Cape Town cop Charl Kinnear.

In his bail application, Killian stated that he intends to plead not guilty to all charges against him.

Killian faces charges of conspiracy to commit murder, murder and unlawful interception of communication after he had allegedly pinged the location of Kinnear’s cellphone.

Ntabazalila had said about Killian’s bail applications: “The State will oppose bail.

“The defence indicated they will request the State join the bail applications.

“The State will respond after studying the application."

Hawks spokesperson Philani Nkwalase had previously said that in his bail bid, Killian “submitted a questionable security certificate to try to justify why he pinged Kinnear’s phone”.
