Screaming away the Covid-19 blues
HERZLIYA: Tired of Covid-19 confinement and seeking both communion and emotional release, some Israelis have taken to group screaming.
A record vaccine roll-out has done little to ease Israel’s pandemic curbs. Next month’s election – the fourth in two years, due to coalition infighting and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s legal woes – has many complaining of malaise. While some take part in protests, others shout to the heavens. To scream, one group stood in choric proximity and removed their masks, drawing looks from passers-by. An organiser said everyone in the group had either recovered from Covid-19 or been vaccinated.
