China is the right partner to help fix Eskom

-

AT LONG last Eskom seems to have woken up to the fact that its management is totally incompetent and out of its depth and has taken the decision to outsource its engineering and maintenance services.

The incompetence problem dates back to 1994 when a decision was taken to retrench all their engineers, who no doubt left Eskom's employ and moved off to greener pastures in Australia, New Zealand and Canada.

Some years later when Eskom was in trouble those same engineers offered to return to Eskom but they were turned down and Eskom continued operating with unskilled and incompetent people.

Surely the powers that be have now realised that all divisions of Eskom should be outsourced. With the close working relationships that South Africa has with China it makes total sense that that country is the right partner to run Eskom.
