A NEW political party formed by several former Patriotic Alliance (PA) members has emerged, promising to improve service delivery and create jobs.

The Movement For Change (MFC) party said it would contest the 2024 national elections.

MFC aims to bring freedom and to build a healthy community with service delivery, according to its website.

“Our leadership team has a genuine interest in our communities.

“A party that will go to lengths to make it run, bringing innovative strategy and a strong determination to drive our people to freedom, increase service delivery and improve our overall business value and maintain our vision to deliver service delivery to our people.

“We will put the interest of all citizens who live in this country first. Our driving force will adhere to all demands coming from our community,“the party says on its website.

Its president, Sammy Nokete, is a former PA councillor who was allegedly removed for poor perfomance.

MFC national spokesperson Nelson Raduvha refuted the allegations, stating that Nokete had resigned from the party on his own accord and that he was not removed.

“The claims are untrue and we will not respond on claims of that nature,” he said.

Raduvha, who also slammed claims that they are former PA “disgruntled members”, said they would issue a press release on their stance in due course.

PA national executive committee (NEC) member Sydney James, however, said Nokete was removed following complaints from other councillors of him “bunking council meetings”.

“Our president recommended his removal after a consultation with the provincial leadership.

“He is definitely disgruntled as evidenced by him joining another party or movement.

“These are former followers and an ex-councillor, and I do not even know the other members. There are no permanent friends or permanent enemies in politics.

“If they can service the people, then we are happy for them. It is ultimately about the people, not political leaders as the politics of individualism will destroy this beautiful country of ours,“he said.

PA former member, now MFC NEC chairperson, Jaydee Beukman, said he had left the party before the local government elections.

“I was not interested in following the party any more. There were too many unresolved matters such as infighting and leadership preferences.“, he said.
