It should be ‘state corruption’, not ‘state capture’

-

WITH the publication of the latest Zondo report, surely the time has come to drop the phrase “state capture” and replace it with “ANC corruption”.

If we are talking about cause and effect, state capture is the effect, the cause of which is ANC corruption.

The ANC over the last 15 years has been at the centre of the systematic looting of the economy and the raping of the country’s resources and infrastructure.

The leadership of the ANC has set the example and ensured thorough their cadre deployment that the culture of corruption and incompetence has spread from its roots to its branches.

The party itself is now split to the extent that it is no longer giving confident and inspired leadership to the country, but is rather focusing on internal politics in the lead-up to their electoral conference later this year.

While we wait for the NPA and the judiciary to carry out their overdue responsibilities, maybe the silver lining to all this is that the ANC will, in its greed, tear itself apart and fragment their blindly loyal voters so that we can look forward to a national coalition government.

To quote Lord Acton: “Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.”

Our beloved country can no longer survive an all-powerful political party being entrusted with the stewardship of our precious and hard-earned tax resources.

The ANC needs to be reminded that the billions of stolen money has come out of the pockets of hardworking and honest taxpayers. ANDREW WILSON | Tokai
