France, India see eye to eye on world issues

NEW DELHI: India and France, during a meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Emmanuel Macron, agreed to establish a strategic dialogue on space issues.

The two countries also agreed about defense co-operation.

India and France expressed concern over aggravatio­n of food security.

The countries said they were concerned about the situation in Afghanista­n.

“India and France expressed serious concern on the humanitari­an situation and violation of human rights and reiterated support for a peaceful and stable Afghanista­n,” read a joint statement.
