Identikit released of suspect in baby kidnapping

POLICE have issued an identikit of the suspect they believe was involved in the kidnapping of a two-month-old baby on April 30 at a retail store in Bishop Lavis.

They have urged the public to come forward with informatio­n about the women depicted in this drawing.

“Anyone with informatio­n or who can identify the person in the identikit is kindly requested to contact the investigat­ion officer, Detective Sergeant Thembisa Buqa, on 073 519 3384 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111. Informatio­n will be treated confidenti­ally and you may remain anonymous,” said police spokespers­on Wesley Twigg.

The appeal comes as the country ended Child and Youth Care Week. The Department of Social Developmen­t has acknowledg­ed the work done by workers in protecting the most vulnerable children in society.
