Plot to kill husband: woman held
A NORTHERN Cape woman, suspected of having conspired to have her husband kidnapped and killed, has been arrested.
SAPS Northern Cape spokesperson, Captain Olebogeng Tawana, said a joint operation by members of the Provincial Organised Crime Unit and Kimberley Crime Intelligence led to the woman's arrest yesterday.
She was nabbed at the Indian Centre in Kimberley during a set-up.
“Following a week of intelligence gathering and surveillance, the team executed the arrest.
“This was done with the assistance of agents who posed as hitmen.
"It is alleged that the woman wanted the hitmen to kidnap and kill her husband.
“She allegedly promised to pay them a substantial amount after the supposed hit.
"The woman was intercepted and arrested while negotiating with the hitmen.
“She is expected to appear in the Kimberley Magistrate's Court todayon a charge of conspiracy to commit murder,“Tawana said.
