A FUTURE FOCUS
HAVAL H1 (ETA: NOW)
The H1 is the entry point to the Haval brand in South Africa. It is in essence a facelifted and rebadged version of the popular GWM M4, with styling and finish updates. Power will be from a naturally aspirated 1,5-litre petrol mill.
HAVAL H6 COUPÉ (ETA: SEPTEMBER)
Another update to a GWM stalwart in South Africa is the forthcoming H6 Coupé (despite having four doors). This update is not merely a rebadging exercise, as the H6 Coupé will offer a new level of specification and sophistication. Power is from a 2,0-litre turbocharged petrol engine and promises to offer an unrivalled value package in the midsized SUV segment.
A GREENER FUTURE
Later this year, Haval plans to introduce pure electric vehicles in China. While not yet forming part of its global plans, Haval continues to invest in new energy and has three technology platforms (PEV, PHEV and HEV) to ensure its relevance given global trends.
A SAFER FUTURE
The company is currently developing a comprehensive intelligent security system in order to produce the "safest SUVS”. Through investment in R&D and the use of strict technical standards and safety-collision-evaluation systems, the brand currently offers vehicles that meet the latest safety-evaluation criteria of the United States. It has further developed expertise in the development of active safety technologies such as driving-habits analysis, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist and multi-view camera systems. However, the company is also developing an "i-pilot" (intelligent navigation system), which is expected to be operational by 2020 and will enable full autonomous-driving functionality and ensure that Haval is at the forefront of offering road safety solutions in a global context.
