Conceived to take on the BMW X6 and MercedesBenz GLE Coupé, the Q8 shares much of its underpinnings with the Q7. According to Audi, the ve-seater agship “combines the elegance of a four-door luxury coupé with the practical versatility of a large SUV”, adding it is “tough enough for off-road duty”. The Q8 is wider, shorter and lower than the Q7, and features a completely different face, a sloping roo ine and spoiler, wheelarch trim, door trim strips and rear diffuser in a contrasting colour.

Audi SA has yet to con rm the powerplants, but the smart money rests with a 213 kw/600 N.m 3,0-litre V6 turbodiesel wearing the 50 TDI label. The German automaker has also con rmed that its 48 V mild-hybrid tech will lter into this model at a later stage.
