That this little Suzuki is tough enough for off-road duty has never been in question and now the rst of cial images of the new, fourth-generation Jimny emphasise its goanywhere reputation and rugged design.

Looking for all intents and purposes like a baby Mercedes-benz G-class, Suzuki claims the new retro-styled off-roader will be able to “overcome muddy pits, manoeuvre through dense woods and conquer massive rocks”.

Suzuki has yet to reveal much in the way of speci cation for the new model, although we do know it will again feature a ladder-frame chassis, three-link rigid-axle suspension and part-time four-wheel drive with a low-range transfer gear. It’s likely to be powered by Suzuki’s turbocharged 1,0-litre Boosterjet three-pot, as well as the brand’s naturally aspirated 1,2-litre as a potential entry-point powerplant.
