IN A-CLASS OF ITS OWN

-

Having teased us with the reveal of its China market-only A-class L Sedan, Mercedes-benz has trimmed the wheelbase and included the rest of the world

THERE IS DEMAND

According to Britta Seeger, member of the board of management of Daimler AG responsible for Mercedes-benz Cars marketing and sales, the A-class hatch’s strong marketplace start has created a gap for a new alternative to the hatch for those with greater space requirements. “It will enable us to win new customers for MercedesBenz,” adds Seeger.

IT’S NO DRAG

Mercedes-benz has made the bold claim the A-class Sedan has the lowest drag of any production vehicle in the world. Facets such as improved seals around the headlamps, extensive underbody panelling and wheelarches designed to route air efficiently around the wheels contribute to a Cd figure of just 0,22.
