WET BRAKING SAW THE DISTANCE INCREASE BY 12 METRES
NEED MORE RWD ACTION?
Many enthusiasts would agree a true performance car should be rear-wheel driven. All-wheel drive is great for optimising traction but can tend to push the nose wide under hard cornering, rather than requiring a slight dab of opposite lock when exiting a corner under full acceleration. Polestar, Volvo’s performance arm, has listened to this criticism from owners and will offer a software package upgrading AWD models from its 60- and 90-series and even XC40 ranges. To be implemented towards the end of the year, the new software will allow the driver to select dynamic driving mode and switch electronic stability control off to enjoy some sideways action.
