While robot drivers are quite common in emissions-cycle testing of cars because they can drive a vehicle accurately and repeatedly on a set cycle, they are less commonly used for motorcycles. Now exhaust supplier Akrapovic has revealed a state-of-the-art riding robot as part of its endurance-testing facility. Looking very much like an android, it is able to put a bike through its paces on a dyno as seen in this screenshot from a company video. The idea is for Akrapovic to test its exhaust systems under controlled conditions without worrying about uctuating weather conditions or rider fatigue. The fact it looks as cool as it does is simply a bonus.
