The Golf 7 GTI pulled up next to me at the traf c lights. The youngsters inside had clearly recognised the V6 badge on the Amarok and I knew what they had planned for when the lights turned green. Despite being much heavier than the GTI, thanks to its grippy 4Motion system, the Amarok leapt off the line to pull ahead of the GTI, albeit only brie y. Lesson taught.
