NO MORE MOTION SICKNESS

-

If you suffer from carsickness, the above headline should delight you. According to studies, more than 70% of people are prone to motion sickness. Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has a group of wellness research engineers investigating the problem and nding solutions. With over 23 000 km completed to compile motion-sickness data, JLR is certain it can implement an algorithm to reduce the occurrence by 60%. The technology uses biometric sensors to screen occupants and attach a wellness score to each individual. By monitoring their condition (especially body temperature), the climate control and suspension settings can be adapted to prevent the onset of motion sickness before the affected occupant is aware. Interestingly, the technology is actually targeting autonomous vehicles as the occupants are more likely to check their phones or read a book, known triggers for carsickness.
