THE M JURY

-

1 // THE ENTHUSIAST ZAKI HENDRICKS

Founder and owner of Wheelworx

I have always been a BMW fan and owned many examples (E30 325is, E36 318i Motorsport, 325i, and M3, and E46 M3). I got my passion from my dad; he always owned the best cars of the time. What drew me to the F80 was the colour combo: Yas Marina Blue and San Merino white interior.

Downpipe, software (390 kw/ 795 N.m), 30 mm lowered.

2 // THE CHAIRMAN RIDWAAN BABAMIA

BMW Car Club Cape Town chairman

To me, the E46 is the perfect M3. It introduced M staples such as the power bulge, wide fenders and quad exhausts. The highrevving engine and precision handling made it a real weapon. To this day its distinct straightsix howl puts butterflies in my stomach.

E46 M3

Factory outputs

252 kw/365 N.m

Modifications

3 // THE TUNER ROWEN COLE CHETTY

Modifier, car builder and BMW M fanatic

Purchased in 2015, this E36 M3 was the third BMW in my collection at the time. In 2012, I bought my first, an E46 M3 and I got an E30 M3 in 2014 (sadly, not available for this shoot). I have my E36, E46 and E92 M3s stored next to each other at my workshop.

4 // THE COLLECTOR DENIS JOUBERT

Former racing driver and chairperson of the Western Province Motor Club

I have a soft spot for BMWS, having raced one in the ’70s. I’ve owned many BMWS (including a couple of M3s) and this V8engined car is the most unique and collectable. It was part of a collection of cars and when the owner offered it for sale, I jumped at the chance.

E92 M3

4,0-litre, V8, naturally aspirated petrol (S65B40)
