TROFEO TRIO
Maserati South Africa has bolstered its high-performance Trofeo range locally. The latest additions enter the line-up as flagship models for the Ghibli, Quattroporte and Levante, boasting the most powerful engine in the Trident stable, as well as exciting
POWERTRAIN AND PERFORMANCE
All three Trofeo models are powered by the same award-winning twinturbopetrol 3,8-litre V8 engine, designed by Ferrari and modified by Maserati. Replacing Ferrari’s flat-plane crankshaft is Maserati’s shorter-stroke, cross-plane crankshaft that gives the engine a potent 433 kw and 730 N.m of torque.
In the Ghibli and Quattroporte Trofeos, power is delivered to the rear wheels exclusively through the ZF eight-speed automatic transmission, while the Levante SUV benefits from all-wheel drive. Both the Ghibli and Quattroporte can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in a claimed 4,30 and 4,50 seconds respectively and will top out at an impressive 326 km/h.
The all-paw Levante Trofeo will sprint from zero to 100 km/h in a claimed 3,90 seconds – rapid in anyone’s book – before topping out at 302 km/h. All three cars benefit from Maserati’s integrated vehicle control (IVC) system that provides top-notch stability and control.
EXTERIOR
On the outside, the new Ghibli and Quattroporte Trofeo models receive several fresh styling cues including a new aggressive frontend, fitted with a lightweight carbon-fibre bonnet hosting integrated air intakes that help improve air flow straight into the uprated twinturbocharged engine.
They also feature new trident badging with two red lightning bolt details, as well as red brake callipers. The rear is revised with a new boomerang-style taillamp arrangement reminiscent of the iconic 3200 GT. The Ghibli and the Quattroporte ride on 21-inch lightweight forged Orione-design alloy wheels. Cosmetic changes to the Levante Trofeo consist of a carbon-fibre rear diffuser and 22-inch Orionedesign forged alloy wheels.
INTERIOR
The most notable addition to the cabins of all three Trofeo models is a contrasting Trofeo logo embossed onto the headrests of the plush Pieno Fiore leather seats. Another dynamic new element in the cockpit is a collection of carbon-fibre inlays along the dashboard, centre console and door panels.
All Trofeo models come equipped with an improved touchscreen infotainment interface, measuring 10,1 inches in the Ghibli and Quattroporte and eight inches in the Levante.

All three models are now available in South Africa. The Maserati Ghibli and Quattroporte Trofeo retail from R2 980 000 and R4 076 000 respectively, while the Levante Trofeo begins at R3 949 000. All three come standard with a five-year/100 000 km maintenance plan.
