Recent audit failures in the public and private sector, both within organisations and at the firms auditing them, have increased both diligence by and scrutiny of finance professionals. Interestingly, the proportion of CFOs who say that they have become more cautious and prudent as a result of these failures (92 percent) has increased since last year’s survey, when the same question yielded a 75 percent positive response.
