In his own words: Decorator Dean van Aswegen’s exuberantly luxe and tailored style cues

Condé Nast House & Garden - - DESIGN NOTES -

1. The print above my bed is from Lemon; it’s an acrylic print that looks chic and sharp. 2. I’m beside myself about gem, ornamental stone and meteorite auctions. There was one recently at Stephan Welz & Co. and this rare Esquel meteorite slice, found in 1951, was my fave. 3. This was the first piece of furniture I ever bought: a tallboy from this great vintage store called Die Ossewa Antiques near Franschhoek. 4. When you find a fabulous upholstery fabric, work it in on unusual shaped furniture. This is Zinc Textile ‘Capel Marl’ from Romo. 5. The ‘Planalto’ dining table from Okha is perfection; so sexy, but a tad too big for my apartment. 6. The ‘Peggy’ pendant light by Vistosi from Lumiart, with black Murano bands around the orbs, has a great industrial gloss to it. 7. These La Grange Interiors side tables are the most versatile size and look cool in pairs. 8. How did we survive before Country Road Home? I’m into their micro meal tools, aka bar-snack bling, and this cheese knife set because interesting-looking objets, even on an empty board.
