KNOW-HOW AND DECOR DETAILS THAT MAKE THE LOOK

-

As top paint brands entice us with relatable palettes and applications, paint has never been a more feel-good, creative and transformative home cosmetic. Pinks look modern if you treat them structurally and often better in a large, bright room with organic furniture. Try ‘Silken Sunrise 5’, ‘Caribbean Dawn 2’, ‘Roasted Red’ and ‘Monarch’ from Dulux.

CRANK THE NOISE WITH MICROPATTERN

Walls that conceal storage doors are easier to achieve at this large scale with wallpaper. opt for Pierre Frey ‘roots’ in Tutti Frutti from Mavromac and Tiphaine alston ‘Voc dutch’ from robin sprong.

a solid-colour wall can be given colour-blocked character with an array of abstract paintings and framed plain paper in a loose composition. For the wall try ‘delhi Bazaar 2’ from dulux and be sure to create a shadow line between the wall and floor for a sophisticated finish.

GEISHA PUNK YOUR WALLS

Mud, mustard, spicy reds and pinks feel familiar because they are earthy, in-fashion tones. use paler colours, here a light pink such as Plascon double Velvet ‘Whipped cream’ or ‘Lavender Veil’, for bigger areas and darker ones for the trim – ‘african Mud’ from Plascon – and, for the ceiling, dulux ‘00YY 12/279’. ‘hot-n-spicy’ from Plascon is the perfect shade of red. For the floor, Plascon floor paint in ‘camouflage’ is a great not-too-grey neutral.
