The Brand I consider wood, along with metal, to be very characteristic of african design and it forms the basis of the Dioumpapa brand. our continent has a considerable asset when it comes to this material, with a wide range of beautiful indigenous woods.

The Inspiration This first collection is inspired by the Malian culture, and the extraordinary masks of the dogon people. I drew on the mask used during the ceremonies intended for the dead when I created the ‘Togou’ stool, which now, too, represents the link between heaven and earth.

The Future designers must aim for perfection and timelessness in their creations, instead of being creatively frozen by a specific context. It is about combining both heritage and modernity in your work. dioumpapa_official
