The Brand Saba Studios is driven by the need to create a relevant design language, which means referencing local culture as well as global trends without turning it into pastiche. even though it is based in Lamu, where materials and manufacturing reference the local, its design draws on both local and global influences. The Inspiration The yearning to find my own design language and do something meaningful and fulfilling. I also wanted to interrogate what role contemporary design plays within present-day africa. The Future situating a design practice in Kenya is an adventure.
