EAST London’s aspiring actor Ntsika Majiba is the host of Cape Town TV’s brand new show, called Chat with Ntsika.

The show, which started last Friday, sees Majiba interviewing local celebrities.

The University of Western Cape graduate said he had always aspired to be a television presenter but never expected it to happen so soon.

“I have always been in love with drama and the entertainment business,” he said.

The 22-year-old said he was honoured to be one of the few young people to have their own TV show.

“The show has 12 episodes and we unpack the stories of our celebrities – from the challenges they have encountered to the lessons they have learnt,” he said.

Majiba’s love for the small screen has also seen him appear on the awardwinning SABC 1 political drama When We Were Black 2. On the show he played the role of General.

“From primary school, my teachers would say I should go to an arts school but my parents would not have that. I started doing drama when I was eight years old and by the time I was 10 I was playing lead roles,” he said.

Majiba said he was among the first Selborne High School pupils who started a drama society.

“The drama society was started by Mbasa Tsetsana and I was part of the first group of pupils. We competed at the Alexander Playhouse drama festival.”
