US election is like a sitcom

MY favourite “sitcom” on TV at the moment is the Donald and Hillary Show. I am absolutely astounded at the puerile and defamatory personal accusations that are flung at each other ad infinitum.

Donald Trump takes the greatest delight in fuelling Hillary Clinton’s apparent persecution complex while she in turn is doing her best to portray him as a bigoted, dirty old man. Has she forgotten that very publicised affair involving her husband – the then sitting US president – and his intern – while at the same time retaining his position as “leader of the Western World”?

America is seemingly a very forgiving country so I doubt whether these accusations are harming Donald’s campaign in any way. Surely America has more to offer in the way of suitable candidates? — Sharron Oosthuizen, Sunrise-on-Sea
