Castro’s indelible legacies
FIDEL Alejandro Castro Ruz, one of the greatest revolutionaries in recent memory; a MarxistLeninist scholar, a pragmatic freedom fighter for the oppressed and exploited of the world, and former president of Cuba has passed to eternity.
Together with comrades such as Che Guevara and Raul Castro and many others, he fought with zeal the Fulgencio Batista puppet government in a guerilla war on the small island of Cuba. For seeking an egalitarian society he suffered persecution, brutality and imprisonment.
We remain moved by the way the tactical and sharp intellects of Cuban revolutionaries defeated the imperial forces and liberated Cuba.
Memories of this great man and images of him in olive green camouflage fatigues shall remain vivid in our mind’s eye. People will hold fast to Fidel Castro’s memory for many reasons, among them his condemnation of the parasitic narrative of exploitation of the poor by the rich.
As we bade farewell to this great statesman we remember his outstanding devotion and contributions to the emancipation of ourselves, the people of the less developed countries burdened by the treacherous yoke of imperialism.
Much as many tried to intimidate the Castro administration through coercive economic blockades or attempts on his life, he never gave up, but soldiered on with the agenda of liberating people outside Cuba. The Fidel Castro movement worked on the ground, training and fighting for
