Ekurhuleni host two MDC finals

-

THE MultiChoice Diski Challenge Championship race is once again going to the wire and the Premier Soccer League together with partners MultiChoice have planned a bonanza to close off the third year of the competition.

For the first time in history, there will be two MDC Festivals playing simultaneously within a space of a 35 kilometre radius.

The two festivals will host the two championship matches including title contenders, Mamelodi Sundowns and close rivals Bloemfontein Celtic – the only two clubs that have a chance to win the grand prize.

Tsakane Stadium in Tsakane and Sinaba Stadium in Daveyton – both in Ekurhuleni – will host the two festivals on Sunday, 26 February 2017. The championship deciding matches at both festivals will kickoff at 12pm.

Mamelodi Sundowns, who are currently top of the log only one point ahead of their close rivals, will play Cape Town City at Sinaba Stadium while second-place Bloemfontein Celtic will play Baroka FC at Tsakane Stadium.

Both Sinaba Stadium and Tsakane Stadium have already hosted festivals during the 2016/17 season of the MDC.

Spurred by the excellent turn-out at both these venues, the PSL and partners, MultiChoice saw it fit to reward people from the two respective areas.

What is clear though is that this finale will attract fans not only from Tsakane and Daveyton but from all over Gauteng and possibly, Bloemfontein.

The Festival in Tsakane will kickoff at 10am with a match between Bidvest Wits and Highlands Park while at Sinaba Stadium, Kaizer Chiefs will play SuperSport United at the same time

Entry to the stadium is free but members of the public will be issued with a ticket as part of acces.

The PSL will advise on the availability of tickets in due course. FESTIVAL FIXTURES: Sunday, February 26 SINABA STADIUM Kaizer Chiefs vs SuperSport United 10am, Mamelodi Sundowns vs Cape Town City 12pm. TSAKANE STADIUM Bidvest Wits vs Highlands Park 10am, Bloemfontein Celtic vs Baroka FC 12pm.
