Hudson looking to end season on a high

- By MFUNDO PILISO

HUDSON Park Primary will be looking to close their season on a high when they take on George Randell High School in an away game next week on Wednesday.

Hudson have only lost two games this season – one against an invitational team from Western Province Park (WPP) who were on tour and was not an official fixtures.

Hudson U13 coach Byron Joseph said they will go into the game next week in high spirits even though they have beaten Gearge Randell before.

“On the official side we've only lost against Dale this year in the Border region and we drew against Queen’s College.

“I started with the boys last year while they were U12 and they were full of energy and unbeaten and over the past few matches we started to beat teams like Cambridge.”

He said when you have so much talent in a team, as a coach you just need to make sure they are a team that works as a unit.

“Its not about the stats but about the quality of rugby that we play and that is part of our vision at Hudson Park.

“Our game is simple, going forward with running rugby and that’s the only game we play.”

He said going into next week's game which is the final game of the year, the boys will have to work twice as hard.

“Its up to us coaches to make sure that the boys don’t take this lightly, there’s nothing like an easy team.

“But you have to worry about the quality of rugby you want to play. Yesterday we had a practice and it was only our team that was on the field.

“Because we want to win the game next week we went out to the field and spent an hour and a half on the rugby field all alone.

“That shows how well these boys work together. We are reaching the end of our road and we need to keep it as professional as necessary as we did throughout the season and the home advantage for George Randall won't deter our campaign.”
