Erasmus is at the right place

- SOCCER

when we went to the Nedbank Cup I scored seven goals.

“Then we went to the playoffs in East London where I was the top goal-scorer with four goals making the number of goals I score last season 48.”

Erasmus claimed he was approached by eight clubs playing in National First Division with offers .

“I chose to return home to assist Bucks because the team wants to be in Premier Soccer League and I want to be part of the team.

“Thanks to coach Dube for believing in me and showing me that when you work hard enough everything will come to you.’’

Erasmus said he was a spiritual person and believed in prayer because not having everything he desired while growing up resulted in him to be a down to earth to person.

“I know how it is to struggle for things and because I'm a breadwinner at home, I can't get pompous now since I'm doing okay. I need to think of my family.

“When I reached professional level at Lion we were in the relegation zone and that’s when I started praying about everything that I do.”

He said choosing the right friends has always helped him to not get caught up in the wrong things.

“The support structure I have at home is amazing including the company I keep. When things are good people tend to get closer to you and when they go wrong friends are few.

“And if me playing for a big team in Mthatha will make me think I need to be all over the place I will be in trouble but I have experiences that have taught me a lot about life.’’
