Why so late Ms Ferguson?

-

THE “Weinstein syndrome” apparently hits again! A former “freedom fighter”, former singer, former MP and now former South African living in a golden, protected country like Sweden laments that she was once raped by an ANC fat cat, in 1993, or 24 years ago, as she informs us!

I’m not defending the Hollywood film producer Harvey Weinstein. In my opinion, he appears to be a lecherous person who has taken advantage of his influential position to forcefully have sex with young women in exchange for their having a shot at a showbiz career.

The alleged victims all say he “forced himself” onto them, forgetting to disclose why they did not report this to the police.

And voilà, all these “victims” are now Hollywood stars. Asia Argento, one of the latest claimants, forgets to disclose that after the alleged rape, she endured in a sexual relationship with Weinstein for … five years!

At the 1992 Oscars nomination event in Los Angeles, Meryl Streep had this to say: “Weinstein is my god”.

Where were all the intellectuals and movie industry on the Left who are now busy bashing US President Donald Trump, when Weinstein’s antics were being widely talked about throughout Hollywood? Why did they keep quiet?

Because being a lefty himself, Weinstein’s measure was apparently above that of ordinary people.

In Jennifer Ferguson’s case, she categorically states that she was raped. But why drop such a bomb 24 years later? Why did she not report the incident immediately after it happened?

Could one assume, and I might be wrong, that this would amount to exposing a fellow “comrade” just after having liberated the country?

Miss Ferguson of Sweden, I feel sympathy for victims and admire those who denounce a rape, immaterial of the prominence of the vile person who did it. But this is surely too little too late. — Vic Tabanelli, Gonubie
