Mabona spreads the message of hope with her new album

EASTERN Cape Audio Visual Centre Record’s Nosiviwe Mabona hopes her latest offering Uyafumaneka will motive believers to remain in God even during hardships.

The singer, who is one of the artists signed under the provincial label, held a listening session for the media last week. This is her second album to be released under ECAVC Records, which is co-owned by the Eastern Cape government and the University of Fort Hare.

Her debut album Kuyenzeka was released in 2014.

The label, under the leadership of Luyolo Beku, recently scooped a distribution deal with Red Revolution which will see them distributing their artists’ music all over the country.

Beku took over from Nduduzo Makhathini last year in September. Since taking over, Beku and his team have been working hard to release quality music and help make their artists known across the country.

Speaking during the listening session, Mabona said she was grateful to share what God gave her with the world.

The album has been produced by multiaward-winning vocalist, songwriter and music producer Nqubeko Mbatha.

“I enjoyed working with Nqubeko. He allowed me to be myself, not try to sound like anyone else in the industry. I believe in the past producers have tried to make me sound like someone else,” she said.

Mabona said the album came at a time when God was realigning her with his will.

“We need to connect with God even when everything is working against us because I believe it is during those times that God is aligning us with his will,” she said. “There is a song titled You are Holy and it is a victory song because God always comes through for us.”

Mabona believes God wants her to share her journey through song to help those who may find themselves in similar situations in the future.

“Whatever happens in our lives we should stay connected to the Lord and know that he can be found in every situation,” she said.

Mabona said her life was a ministry and she wanted to use her gift to heal and give hope to God’s people.

“I named the album Uyafumaneka [He Can Be Found] because I wanted people to seek God in everything.

“God is always there for us and he wants us to know that he is there for us in every season,” she said.

The online version of the album will be available from next month and the hard copy is due for distribution early next year. —
