lose points and more than that they can get fined.

“We’ve even said to clubs – take a picture of the player in question and their card so they can strengthen their cases, but clubs don’t want to do this.”

Klaas said many teams had failed to come forward and lay formal complaints because they were engaged in these illegal acts and he encouraged teams to lodge formal complaints with the association that can cost a refundable amount of R10 000 if they win the case.

“The only team I commend is still Highbury because they have been winning their cases.

Stars assistant coach and head of football, Moenier Safedien said the Tigers manager checked their team list and he was happy with the players who were playing, but when they had an opportunity to check Tigers’ cards they weren’t satisfied.

“The Tigers’ owner came also wanting to check our cards and he got upset and he lodged protests against five of our players.”

Safedien said they wouldn’t escalate the matter to the association because their players were in good standing hence they had nothing to worry about.

“All the players we brought are well known players and they are registered to play.”

Tigers caretaker coach Vuyo “George” Tyelo poured cold water on the accusations that they had played someone who’s not registered.

“They can go and lodge a complaint with their money because it’s their right as a club,” said Tyelo.
