DJ Blomzit Avenue blossoms with his latest single
DJ BLOMZIT Avenue’s music career continues to soar as his latest single enjoys airplay in all major radio stations around the country.
The track I Wanna Be your Lover, featuring Thandi Ralana, has earned him praise from colleagues in the industry. The song was released last month and has managed to secure spots on all the leading radio stations across the country, including UMhlobo Wenene FM and Metro FM.
Some of the DJs that have commended Blomzit Avenue include DJ Fresh, Lulocafe, Pastor the DJ and Thomas Bad Boy T Msengana.
This is the second song the DJ has done with Ralana. Their first track,
Love Thing, saw them perform to more than 10 000 young people at the annual Cruel Summer Picnic in 2016.
Blomzit Avenue, whose real name is Malibongwe Blom, said this was a buildup to his third album release.
“I am planning on pushing this single for the next couple of months before the album release in September,” he said, adding that he was blown away by the support he has been receiving from the public.
“People on social media have also been saying the sound is great and are impressed with the quality,” he said.
Blom said the video for the song, which they shot recently, would be released this week.
He has also made television appearances on SABC’s Morning Live and on ANN7.
“We were also in talks with the YoTV producer [the late Akhumzi Jezile] and we were waiting for him to give us dates but then the accident happened,” he said.
Blom is considering releasing one more single before the album’s release.
“I worked with a Durban artist by the name of Stunner on a track called
I Feel Free. It will be the next single before the album release,” he said, adding he has also worked with TNS, who features in Prince Kaybee’s Club Controller.
