Seven-a-side to fire up budding stars
AN exciting seven-a-side June 16 soccer development tournament is on the cards for East London youth at North End Stadium on Saturday.
The event, organised by Own Haven, will see eight seven-a-side teams going toe-to-toe for the June 16 celebrations and will also stand a chance to win great prizes.
Tournament, organiser Chantelle Brown, said the rentals company decided to honour the fallen struggle heroes in this way.
“We are doing this to motivate our youth to work hard and achieve what they aspire to be. Because we work with different age groups, and we train with them every Thursday afternoon.
“And all these kids are living in the Southernwood and surrounding areas. So we are just motivating them especially on this day where in the past many youth were murdered while fighting for their basic human rights,” said Brown.
She said they had organised a fun time where even families could come to the sporting venue and have fun while watching local talent.
