Silver should streak in

-

ALAN Greeff-trained Streak Of Silver looks ready to strike gold when he competes in the main event at Fairview tomorrow.

The son of Silvano is one of only seven horses lining up for Race 3, the Racing Association Pinnacle Stakes over 1 600m. Prize money of R99 000 is at stake.

Streak Of Silver, formerly trained by Eric Sands in Cape Town, will have his third run since relocating to Port Elizabeth.

He came close in both his local starts, finishing third and second behind Seattle Flame and Prospect Strike respectively. He was just a length behind Seattle Flame and 1.25 lengths behind Prospect Strike.

Streak Of Silver arrived in PE as a five-time winner from 28 starts – with five second places and four third places. That record alone makes him a talented individual and a serious contender for the winner’s cheque here.

He will have Teaque Gould in the saddle and will jump from pole position.

However, consistent Stormy Eclipse, from the Tara Laing yard, won’t go down without a fight. As a nine-time winner from 39 outings, the son of Dynasty commands respect. With Chase Maujean in the irons, owners Dr Ashley Parker and Gavin Venter will be hoping that Stormy Eclipse will take his career earnings to just under R1 million.

Lord Marshal also looks ready to win after running third behind Paper Town over 1600m. Louie Mxothwa, who is in good form, retains the ride and is also 2.5kg better off than last time.
