Municipal service shock

-

Iam very frustrated by our local services in municipal departments. I went to re-register my car licence and the crowd in the office was so great and queues so long that I left.

I joked that only residents of Gonubie can be helped at this office. ( A serious suggestion.)

Half of East London comes to Gonubie for the registration and renewal of drivers’ licences, etc. I went to the post office, only to be told that they have no paper. I went to the municipality to pay my utility account. They were off-line.

I went back to the licensing department – only to find that they closed at 2.30pm. Not a good day. I would be very angry if I got a fine for an expired licence, or my electricity cut off.
