She spent four months in hospital fighting for her life and as fitness fundi Sbahle Mpisane puts together the pieces of who she used to be, she has detailed the horror that she has gone through: from broken bones to memory loss, her journey has been an inspiration to many.

Mpisane returned to hospital this week to undergo surgery and posted a detailed letter to fans about finding herself again and embracing the pain she endures on a daily basis.

“After 3 weeks of being in a coma, waking up to a body with almost 80% of its bones broken, God protected my spine. With no memory, not just of my accident, but the last two years being blurry, I spent a total of four months in hospital.”

Mpisane said she has come to embrace the pain-filled days.

“I have learnt to make a map of them by sitting and growing with them. I view the accident as a human experience. Rediscovering myself is a humbling experience.”

Mpisane said she has learnt all kinds of things about herself and she has embraced the journey of navigating the old her and finding the new her. She said she is looking for her purpose and has a long road ahead.

● Breaking her silence on her relationship with Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune‚ Mpisane told fans that she is only focused on herself and recovering from her horror car crash.

The pair have not posted about each other for over a month‚ leading some jittery fans to think that there might be trouble in paradise.

The couple took a break in 2017 before getting back together several months later. Now fans are concerned that the same thing might be happening and have left messages on Sbahle’s social media pages.

One fans asked her on Monday whether she was still planning to marry “Africa’s number one”.

“Are you going to marry Itu this time or you’ll dump him again? Curious nje‚” the fan wrote.

Sbahle responded by telling the fan that since coming out of a coma she has only been looking out for herself.

She also shut down any wedding bells‚ claiming she is “married to herself”.

“Since coming out of a coma my focus has been on my wellness and recovery‚” she wrote.
